We Were Made for Such a Time As This!
“For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place and you and your father’s house will perish. And who knows whether you have not attained royalty for such a time as this?” – Esther 4:14
It was made clear to Esther that God’s will would be accomplished whether she took part or not, but if not, it would be at the price of her family! If you found yourself in a similar situation, what price would you be willing to pay?
The Time is Now!
Take a look at the dying, spiritually starving world around you and what is happening here in America. Because we are spiritually sleeping and have become so complacent, fat, and comfortable in our easy and convenient worship, so many are unaware that our nation and freedoms as we know them are slipping away at lightning speed. Our nation is hanging in the balance; depending upon us to take action as citizens, and most importantly to PRAY and turn to Him during this time and ask that He not remove His hand of blessing from our country.
It is time we wake up and take a stand! We were made for such a time as this. This is the hour! Our purpose here is to lift Jesus up and glorify Him; it is why we are here and why we live! We have a choice before God as His Royal Priesthood (I Peter 2:9) to rise and stand, or to lay down for the price of convenience and allow the opportunity to pass us by at the cost of our family!
The time for easy living is over!
Are you mentally checked out, sitting on a mountain top waiting for Christ’s return because the world is going to hell in a hand basket, people are suffering, and you want to get raptured out of here before the suffering touches you too? Consider John 17 verse 15, a prayer of Jesus to the Father:
“I do not ask You to take them out of the world, but to keep them from the evil one”
We are all familiar with 2 Chronicles 7:14, which says “and My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land”.
I was reading Jeremiah chapter 18 recently and noticed something I had not before paid attention to. It is a familiar passage to many of us, about the potter and the clay. Every sermon I can recall on it was in reference to the individual (I AM the Potter, you are the clay). But have you ever noticed that in context God is actually speaking at a corporate level, as in kingdoms and nations? In particular the house of Israel, but He does include other kingdoms and nations as well. So then in that context the following verses pop out:
- 8 to 10:
“If that nation against which I have spoken turns from its evil, I will relent concerning the calamity I planned to bring on it. Or at another moment I might speak concerning a nation or concerning a kingdom to build up or to plan it, if it does evil in My sight by not obeying My voice, then I will think better on the good with which I had promised to bless it.”
It goes on to say in verses 11 & 12 to turn back, each from his evil way, but they will say “It is hopeless! For we are going to follow our own plans, and each of us will act according to the stubbornness of his evil heart”.
What You Should Know
John 16:7, 13-15 “But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you… But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of Mine and will disclose it to you. All things that the Father has are Mine; therefore I said that He takes of Mine and will disclose it to you”.
What I find interesting about these verses is the role the Holy Spirit plays in the life of one who seeks God passionately, stays close to him in fellowship, and keeps his eyes focused on Christ through scripture. He guides us into all truth, He hears, He speaks, and He discloses to us what is to come! And what’s else, all things that the Father has are Christ’s, and will be disclosed to us!
A Call to Action
Why would all this be necessary for one who had resigned himself to wait upon the mountaintop for Christ’s return? It would not. It is only relevant for the one arming himself for battle (Ephesians 2: 10 – 18 – with emphasis today on verse 18: “… pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert”). Why arm yourself for battle if you plan on running away from it by being complacent and waiting for the rapture? Don’t run away, run towards! James 4:7 says to “Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you”. Joshua 1:9 says “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”
