I could not help but chuckle a bit at something I read not too long ago in Mark chapter 14. Right in the middle of a sad, heartbreaking, and emotional portion of scripture where we have just witnessed Jesus’ betrayal and arrest in Gethsemane, we read in verses 51 and 52 about this guy who was wrapped only in a sheet and had been following Jesus. When the guards attempted to seize him, he pulled out of the sheet and got away naked! What?? Who was this guy? I can’t help but wonder why Mark chose to include him in this passage. Comic relief? Wondering if I am the only one who sees humor in this?
